Please, Sir, May I Have Some...

All Done!

Okay, you'll never believe what I'm doing. Mom doesn't even believe it. She thought this was a total coincidence until this morning when I closed my mouth tight and put my hands in the air to tell her I was "all done" with my breakfast. Mom has been signing with me for months, especially signing "more" and "all done" while feeding me solids, but she didn't expect me to start signing back so soon. She immediately ran to get the camera and this is what she caught on film:

Addendum: Aunt La La said she thought Mom was doing the sign while this video was being taken and maybe I was mimicking her. We should have mentioned that Mom was not signing while she was saying "all done"--she was just saying it. Cool, huh?

Now This Is Getting Ridiculous!

As you know, I posted earlier today about how I am adding approx. one word a day to my vocabulary. Well, it's only 3:00 and I have learned three new words today! Seriously! I tell you--I am livin' it up this 1/4 birthday!

Here they are:

Bus
Wow!
Help

This last one is especially great, because my mom has been working on this sign with me for what seems like weeks. I can't exactly do the sign, but I have been doing my own version of it when reminded. However, today I have been doing my sign and saying "help" on my own. For example, when I had a hard time climbing onto my parents' bed this morning, I signed and said "help." Then again, just a few minutes ago, I asked Mom to help me get my truck out from under the chair, instead of screaming (which is how I used to tell her that I needed help).

Pretty awesome, huh?

Milk

Mom's been working on signing with me lately. I'm not as fast as Scarlett, but I'm getting it. In fact, after watching Scarlett's videos yesterday, I finally signed milk! Funny, huh? I learn alot from that girl. She's super smart. Like, scary smart.

For those of you who haven't figured it out, the sign for milk is pretty much just pretending you're milking a cow. Hee hee.

Sick Day

Last night, on my way home from the airport, I got sick in the car. Very, very sick. Like...pull over and hose off me and the carseat sick. Mom can't figure out what happened, but has to assume I had motion sickness from a day on an airplane and then in the car. It was bad. Anyway, I was in pretty bad shape all night and some of this morning, so Mom let me watch TV. Have you guys seen Sesame Street? It's like the best show ever! It certainly perked me up!

Mom also let me watch some of the videos on Scarlett's blog. There was one in particular that I really liked. (Notice the sign language AND the new word!)

Applesauce!

To practice my spoon work, I got to have applesauce with my supper tonight. Needless to say, I made a big ol' mess. Then, when I got tired of using the spoon, I decided to just drink my applesauce. Hey--There's nothing wrong with drinking from a bowl! I watch Mom do it with her cereal milk every morning.

There may be nothing wrong with drinking from a bowl, but there is something very wrong with throwing a bowl. I just can't seem to remember not to do it! And my dad can't seem to remember that throwing a bowl means my meal is over. Poor Daddy. We both got snapped at.

Anyway--forget the bowl-throwing incident. Wasn't that some good signing? I'm getting really good!

More?...More!!

After my mom taught SCARLETT how to sign "more" in like two minutes, I thought I'd better start paying attention. Mom has been lazily signing with me for months, but after witnessing Scarlett's amazing feat, she decided to work a little harder on it. Today, I finally got it. See, Mom's been working on it with food, but to tell the truth, I'm not much of an eater. If she asked if I wanted more, I'd just say: "eh...no thanks." Today in the car, she was playing a game where Meri (my stuffed lamb) would count to three and jump off the back of her seat into my arms. I loved it. So she decided to try "more" with me again. I picked it up right away. Then at bath time, she tried it again. Yep. I like singing and I wanted more!
