So we had another fun day today, of course. We played in my house...



We read books...and I mean ALL my books.



We fought over my chair. Well, actually, Scarlett showed interest in my chair, which I haven't shown interest in for like a month now, and so I had to mark my territory. Thank goodness for diapers, otherwise it could have been messy.



Again, Mom tried to make us a fun meal. She made us mini pizzas that were...umm...really? We have to eat these?





She brought in Meri, who is her usual foolproof "eat your dinner" tool. You know, I feed him a bite, then feed myself a bite. But Scarlett just wanted to hug him.



You know, it's difficult to really express to you guys just how busy Scarlett and I are every minute of our day, so Mom decided to just let the camera roll so you could see what goes on...all day long.



After a few days together, Mom knew Scarlett and I would pick up some of each other's habits and cute things (some of them cuter than others, if you know what I mean). Here's a little something Mom caught after Scarlett left this evening. It's definitely a cute one. You may recognize it from previous episodes.



Well that's our show for tonight, folks! Wait--what? You were expecting more? Okay, okay...for our grand finale: Toddler Tunes!

Scarlett started off a wee bit timid...maybe even bored...



But then...



Let's be honest, she danced more than anyone else!



Yay Toddler Tunes! Yay Scarlett!

PSS: Episode 2

That's right, our show has become so popular that it is now abbreviated.

It's Day 2 of the Poki and Scarlett Show (PSS) and the fun is free-flowing, people! Scarlett arrived at 9 am, and we immediately got to dancing. Here is our rendition of the hit show Stomp:



Then we played. But Scarlett just doesn't seem to understand the concept of a remote control car. Sigh...girls.



But she made up for it by showing me her skills when we played ball in the house. Hey--Mom encouraged it!



Then we went to the kitchen and got to work making our snack.



Then, while we ate, we decided to have a good old fashioned head shaking contest. Of course we did--doesn't everyone do this at the kitchen table?



After all that competition, I just wanted to hug and make up...or make out...Okay--I may have crossed a line.



Then, after what seemed like days to my Mom (but was actually nearly an hour earlier than yesterday), Scarlett and I took our naps. If you were listening carefully at 11:15 this morning, you may have heard the sound of my mom's body plopping on the sofa.

After we woke up, we got in the ol' wagon and took a walk. This time we weren't allowed to bring toys with us, so we got along much better.



Then after our walk, we colored. We both really loved that!



While coloring, Scarlett's mom showed up. We were very happy to see her, and both climbed into her lap for a little story time. But like I am with my toys, Scarlett doesn't like to share her mommy.

The Poki and Scarlett Show: Episode 1

Scarlett is spending her days with me and my mom this week while her usual daycare provider is on vacation. She arrived at 10:00 am this morning, and the minute she walked in the door, we were like a fun-times tornado and happy kid hurricane, colliding and forming a super-dooper-crazy-fun storm! In other words, we had fun.

Well, to be honest, we didn't actually get off on the smoothest of starts...



And the ride continued to be a bit bumpy...



But then came snack time. Whoever wins this election needs to know one thing: Juice boxes are the answer to World Peace. And if they can smooth that bumpy road that Scarlett and I started off on, I'm certain they can bridge party lines. McCain? Obama? Are you listening? Juice boxes.



After our snack of pears, blueberries and cheese, it was already time for a costume change. I sat in a bunch of blueberries and...well...Scarlett had a little leaky diaper accident. So we stripped down to our skivvies while Mom got us a change of clothes.



Scarlett changed into a beautiful pink ski bunny princess outfit (complete with ears)...



And I changed into some embarrassingly short pants that made me look like some old man who plays chess in the park (when he's not feeding pigeons).



Then we cleaned up...



we played piano (I'll spare you the video/audio of that activity)...



we talked on our phones...



we had a dance party...



and then, at noon, we napped. (Yes, if you are keeping track, all those things happened in under two hours. My mom says if she had twins she would be very skinny).

After napping, we had lunch. Mom made us a wonderful lunch of cheesy english muffins and (soft, cooked) carrots with ranch dressing for dipping. Mom knows how much I love to dip, dip, dip!



And Scarlett does too!



Unfortunately Mom's "brilliant idea" for how to get us to eat veggies backfired when Scarlett decided her carrot was just another utensil for serving up the ranch.

Yes, folks...that's what you might call a ranch mustache.



Finally, after lunch, we went for a walk in Scarlett's wagon.



I know...I was grumpy. She had my phone! I'm having some difficulty seeing another kid with my toys...even if it is my best friend. Mom says this week is going to be a good lesson for me--I just think it's going to be fun! Check back in tomorrow for episode 2!

Pippi's Party!

You may remember that it was Pippi's birthday this week. Well, yesterday was her birthday party, and it was an absolute blast! Everyone commented on how well I held my own with the big kids, and my mom has to agree. I arrived right around my usual naptime, but I still managed to stick around for over 2 hours!

Until I discovered Pippi's dollhouse!



The birthday girl herself, perched upon the super cool chest that her grandfather made for her. He made that, people! Check out the different pockets all over it--cool huh?



Pippi has a sea cave in her new room. Isn't it neat? She also has a beautiful mural on her wall. She has the nicest room of any three-year-old we've ever, ever seen!



After we played in Pippi's room, it was time for lunch. Can I just say...pizza squares rock!



Then it was time for the entertainment: A puppet show!



Everyone really loved it. Come on...is there any better sound in the world than this?



There were lots of different cute puppets. Like this tiny one...



And this big funny one.



I thought they were pretty funny and watched like a little zombie...





Until this guy came out. Then I cried. He's creepy! And look at the guy's rosacea! He needs to see the dermatologist!



After the puppet show, it was time for everyone's favorite part of all birthday parties: The cake!



This party was so cool, they had cake...



AND cupcakes! They were as delicious as they were beautiful!



Make a wish, Pippi! Wish that you don't burn your eyebrows off, Pippi!



And finally, presents! We left before this part...and I fell asleep before we reached the end of the street.



In case you're wondering, we got her this make your own puppet kit before we even knew she was having puppets at her party! How funny is that?!

Happy Birthday, Pippi! Thanks for having us! We can't wait 'til next year's big shindig, although we don't know how you'll top this one!

Yep! It's Fall!

Apparently that means it's time for hunting wabbits...

My older and wiser friend Pippi just got a little older and wiser. Happy third birthday, Pippi! We love you!



I can't believe that is the only picture of Pippi that my mom can find. It's like 7 months old! How embarrassing, Mom!
