Meet Ping Pong!

Hold your horses! I'm not really here yet--but I will be making my grand appearance into this big ol' world any day now. That's why I thought it was time to properly introduce myself and thank my big brother for agreeing to share his blog with me.

For those of you who don't already know, I'm Poki's baby brother. That's right folks--I'm a boy. I don't think my mom officially announced that here on the blog (see how those second-child stereotypes are already ringing true?), but here is a little photographic evidence for you:

(In case you're wondering what you're looking at, that's two femur bones with a scrotum between).

While you're here, you might has well see the other pictures taken of me at the wee fetal age of 19 weeks.

Here is a shot of my handsome profile. Mom thinks it looks quite a bit like my brother's profile from his 20 week ultrasound pictures. (See--the comparisons are already beginning too...sigh...)

Here is a picture of my tiny feet.

And here is a picture of me sucking my thumb. It's pretty difficult to make out, but the horizontal line at the top of the picture is my arm, and my hand (and thumb) are by my head to the right.

My mom thinks that last one might just be the cutest fuzzy picture she's ever seen. And that was just at 19 weeks. That was half my fetal life ago. Just imagine how cute I must be now!

It was very nice meeting you all! Please check back in regularly to see when I decide to really introduce myself! My mom and dad plan to post pictures immediately.

Carson The Explorer

Daddy has started a new tradition of making up “Carson the Explorer” stories at bedtime. Daddy's been putting me to bed most nights lately, but last night Mom did. Her "Carson the Explorer" stories leave something to be desired. Poor Mommy.

In last night's story, Carson the Explorer swam to the bottom of the ocean to help a jellyfish build a house from seaweed, seashells and coral. When Mom reached the end of the story, where she and Daddy were waiting on the beach with a picnic for Carson the Explorer, she asked me, “what do you think they were going to eat?” To which I replied with a big, long sigh: “I think that jellyfish can’t talk and you can’t build a house from seaweed and seashells don’t have living rooms or bathrooms.”

Silly Mommy.

Then when Dad came home, Mom told him what I said. Dad asked, "well, did he go underwater in his super submarine?" Um, no. "Was there a rocket anywhere in the story?" Um...no again. Mom really needs to work on her storytelling skills.

Super Speller!

You may remember my mom's previous post showing how much I've learned from watching The Letter Factory . Well, after seeing my success, my mom decided to get The Word Factory too! She thought it would be a bit over my head, but she was wrong!

This morning, while playing with my alphabet fridge magnets, I spelled Cat, Bat, Mat, Dog, Log, Frog, Dad, Ox and Up all by myself. Then I told my dad I wanted to spell Octopus. Together, we sounded out the word and spelled it with my magnets. The trouble is...my dad doesn't know how to spell Octopus. Apparently, he thinks it is spelled Octapus. So...I had to correct him. (How embarrassing...) So there you have it folks--it's official. I'm a better speller than my dad.

Mom has been trying to catch my spelling talent on video so you can all see it, but we usually play spelling games in the car and she claims she can't work the video camera while driving. She's really going to try to get me spelling with my magnets again so check back to see me in action!
