Sweet Dreams

Ever wonder what a 19 month old boy dreams about?

Scene: Poki's room, 4:30 pm.

Mom: Poki...it's time to wake up...you took a loooong nap. Let's wake up now, honey.

Mom gently shakes Poki's shoulder to wake him.

Poki (eyes still closed, corner of his blanket still in his mouth) mumbles: Backhoe...Garbage...Mixer...

Of course he dreams about backhoes.
We used to question when the differences in their genders would become apparent. I think we've reached that time. Scarlett is afraid of garbage.

It's funny...we had a moment like this the other day. We were eating dinner and it was quiet - had been quiet for a good five minutes. Scarlett was shoveling rice into her mouth and just looked up randomly and said "Nan?" We told her Nan wasn't coming over tonight and she said "yeah," and then went back to shoveling. She wasn't sleeping or anything, but it was a real glimpse into what she was thinking about at that moment.
